Maiden win for Rasmus Hjelm in Denmark
Rodding/Denmark (mat) – Rasmus Hjelm from Denmark is the
winner of the 2010 Danfoss Masters. The 25 year old from Aalborg/Denmark
celebrated his maiden win as a Golf professional when he fired rounds of 68, 70
and 68 on the par 72 course of the Royal Oak Golf Club in Rodding in his home
country. After 54 holes he was two shots ahead of Swede Joonas Granberg (69,
68, 71 / -8), Germany’s Dennis Küpper shared 3rd place with Scotsman Paul
O’Hara, Morten Hedegaard from Denmark and Dutchman Tim Sluiter – they all
played 7 under par.
The Danfoss
Masters was a co-sanctioned tournament of both the Danish Ecco-Tour and the EPD
Tour, presenting a total prize money of 36,500 euro. The winner’s purse was
5913 euro.
„That was a
fantastic tournament. The greens were in excellent condition and this was a
major reason for my good performance“, the winner said (picture on the right).
“My putting is very good since a few weeks already and this really paid off
this week.” Hjelm started to play professional golf in 2009.
With the
Danfoss Masters 10 of 20 tournaments of the 2010 EPD Tour season are finished –
and the next event starts on Monday already with the Licher Classic in Germany.
