When he teed off on the final day of the 2012 Amelkis Classic in Marrakech, he did not think about winning the 30,000 euro tournament in Morocco. But finally Frenchman Damien Perrier birdied himself into a play-off with Tiago Cruz from Portugal when both finished with 9 under par after 54 holes. Play-off victory for Damien Perrier in Morocco

Marrakech/Morocco (mat) – Damien Perrier from France celebrates his maiden victory on the EPD Tour by winning the Amelkis Classic in a play-off against Tiago Cruz (Portugal). After 54 holes both players were tied in Marrakech/Morocco with 9 under par on Saturday afternoon, but 30 Minutes later 22 year old Perrier won the tournament on the first extra hole with a birdie. As well as the trophy he gets the 5000 Euro winners cheque. Third place is shared by German Max Kramer and Gavin Dear from Scotland. Both finished with 7 under par.

Younes El Hassani and Gavin Dear share the lead

Marrakech/Morocco (mat) – It is going to be an exciting final round at the Amelkis Classic in Marrakech in Morocco on Saturday. Local hero Younes El Hassani was able to defend his lead on Friday, with a total 8 under par (62+74) his name is still on top of the leaderboard. But he has to share the pole position with Gavin Dear from Scotland (69+67). 43 players made the cut (+3) and play for their share of the 30,000 euro prize money.

Amelkis: Brilliant round 62 for Younes El Hassani

Marrakech/Morocco (mat) – Local hero Younes El Hassani shot a brilliant round 62 on the first day of the 2012 Amelkis Classic in Marrakech. The 38 year old Moroccan played two eagles in his fabulous round at the Amelkis Golf Course on Thursday.
